About Boombox & City Love
Boombox & City Love are both live radio shows broadcasted through Hamline University Radio. Streaming online at www.hamline.edu/radio.
Boombox is hosted by Tessa Mortenson, Saraya Boghani, Isaiah Howard, and Charlie Thayer and airs live every Tue. & Thur. night from 9-10 PM Central Time. Boombox was formed in fall of 09’ with DJ’s Tessa, Orin Ruben, and Saraya. By the end of 2009, Orin left to travel abroad and we had welcomed Isaiah Howard and Charlie Thayer as new DJ’s to the show. To celebrate the new year, Boombox has reached out locally and will be hosting a variety of local hip hop artists to the show. We hope to bring you continual entertainment and news from the hip hop community as well as from our own music libraries. Boombox contains all your hopes and dreams neatly packaged into a one-hour hip hop show for your aural pleasure. What more could you ask for?
City Love is hosted by Rola Alkatout and Tessa Mortenson and airs live every Tue. night from 10-11 PM Central Time. City Love was formed in the fall of 09’ with the intention to broadcast a variety of music, old and new, popular and underground, local and abroad. We especially love that local music and hope to bring more local artists across genres to the show. If you are a local artist, please contact us at citylove1536@gmail.com if you are interested in coming to the show. Sometimes, when Boombox has guests on Tuesday nights we will overlap their time with ours. Check out the calendar for any upcoming guests/events.

Hello!
I’m Saraya, one of the many dj’s that work tirelessly to bring you Boombox.
I like good music, good people, and you- the wonderful person reading this right now.
As for other things, I enjoy trees, a fresh breeze, refreshing thoughts, a progressive point, the written word, spoken, too, and Minnesota… nice.
I’m a recently declared English Major, possible Spanish minor but we’ll see where that goes.
There’s so much music out there, if you have a song in your heart shoot it my way and I’ll be happy to take a listen. For now I’ll be listening to almost anything Jack White related, Eyedea and Abilities, Cloud Cult, the whole Doomtree crew, Blue Scholars, Fleet Foxes, The Long Winters, Spoon, menomena, Aesop Rock, Heiruspecs, and oh so many more. Gotta rep the local and remember the roots.
